Positive health has been variously defined. We were the first to define positive health as the capability to ward-off ailments before their onset and thus allowing to live a healthy and long life. The existing concept for assessing positive health includes social and psychological factors that are difficult to measure. We hypothesize that all such factors ultimately provide protection through positive alteration in the physiological and biomedical parameters. Our extensive review of literature suggests that the biomarkers of positive health can be divided into 5 domains (Immunological, Nutritional, Endocrines, Neurological, and Physiological including lung functions, reproduction, musculoskeletal, and urinary). Details available at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10353687/pdf/IJCM-48-382.pdf. Higher values of endorphins, handgrip strength, BMD, P3 amplitude, spirometry, and oxygen saturation generally indicate increasingly positive health. However we have identified a large number of other parameters. Identification of such parameters makes it feasible to objectively measure positive health at individual health. Efforts are on to develop a scoring system. Also see https://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/article/10.11648/j.ajim.20210904.12
